The math problem that is sent home each week is designed to encourage perseverance and conceptual understanding. Links to the homework due for this quarter can be found below.

Student work is reviewed for effort and understanding and individual comprehension. The answer is just a small part of the assignment. Directions and rubrics will be sent home with the homework.

Math Problem Solving Steps
  • Restate what you know about the problem.
  • List all the necessary information.
  • Make a plan. What do you need to do with the numbers? What mathematical operations or strategies are required?
  • Solve and show your work. Number each step when possible.
  • Write a solution sentence using mathematical terms.
  • Reflect on the Math if appropriate. What areas are your strengths?  ​ Where did you struggle?
